Developing a Listening Plan


Listening can often be overlooked when Marketers try so hard to get their message out there to their consumers. However, it is one of the most important elements within an online strategy. So how can you incorporate more “listening”?



Here’s a couple ideas:

  • Monitor your social channels to see what people are saying about your brand. This can be done by keeping up to date on what people are posting or using software such as Hootsuite or Spredfast that can do it for you.
  • Ask questions online. It’s a great way to engage your audience and to see what they have to say
  • Respond to comments, Positive and Negative. A Negative comment can sometimes be turned about if you response properly. No response, can often make it worse.
  • If someone is acting as an ambassador to your brand and providing great comments, let them how much you appreciate it.
  • Listen to what people are saying about other brands similar to yours: Use it as an opportunity to get new business or to make your brand better.
